Yes! Why should your car have all the fun? You will ride through our well lit and colorful wash tunnel and experience the soft cloth washing, micro-clean foam, spot free rinse and powerful air dry. Our wash will have you in and out in less than 5 minutes.
Absolutely! At The Express Wash all of our soaps and waxes are biodegradable, non-toxic, and environmentally friendly. In fact, it is much safer for the environment to wash your car at a professional car wash than in your driveway. Because we control the flow rate and the water pressure, we use far less water per car than washing at home. Our water is also sent directly to a water treatment plant, unlike washing in the driveway, where the waste water goes down the storm drain and can end up as run off in local rivers, lakes or stream.
Wash it when it’s dirty. There are fanatics who wash their vehicle every day. If you drive your vehicle everyday, we recommend you wash at least once a week. Washing your vehicle once a week will ensure that the surface is being cared for properly. If you go for many weeks without washing your vehicle you may have allowed irreparable damage from acid rain, bird droppings, bugs or salt to occur. For many people their car is the second largest investment they make, after their home. Doesn’t it make sense to protect it? It will also increase the value at trade-in time.
Most vehicle manuals say to frequent professional car washes because clear coat treatments and wax protectants protect your vehicle from the damaging effects of weather or UV ray damage. Frequent washing is actually good for your vehicle.
Absolutely!! Clear coat finishes need to be waxed, not only for protective qualities and added shine, but also for the mar resistant benefits. The biggest problem with clear coat finishes today is mar (scratch or scuff) resistance. These new finishes resist weathering better than ever; however, abrasive soil, sand, dirt, road debris, and other sources of abrasion can leave a clear top coat looking very dull in a short time. Waxing leaves a smooth film which helps prevent these minor abrasions from occurring.
Yes, except we cannot wash any trucks with dual-wheel axles or with any external racks or hangers that can impede the wash process. Side step rails are usually okay, but are subject to inspection prior to entering our wash tunnel. This is for the safety of your vehicle and our equipment. However, we can wash ALL of these by hand!
Oxidation is the “damaging” and “drying out” of your vehicles paint caused by atmospheric conditions. You probably have noticed it more on red cars. When the pigment in the paint dries out, it starts to fade or have a dull look. For the most part, oxidation can only take place when the surface of your car’s finish has deteriorated from abuse or neglect to the point where the once impermeable surface has become permeable and then left unprotected. Deterioration is caused by, neglect, washing with detergent washes (dish soap), the leaching and drying-out effect due to repeated exposure to inclement weather, baking in hot sun, natural wear and tear, and through the natural process of breaking down.
The best way to prevent oxidation is to:
In simpler terms, reverse osmosis is pushing water through a membrane (filter) that traps the minerals from one side and allows the pure water to flow from the other side. Cool Wave’s Spot Free Rinse systems include five stages:
Reverse osmosis (RO) is used to remove dissolved materials in the water. As normal rinse water drying on a car evaporates and goes into the atmosphere, anything that is not water (such as dissolved materials) will remain on the car. After the water is removed, the remaining material will leave a spot. By using RO at Cool Wave Car Washes, it is possible to remove the unseen, non-water materials out of the final rinse water and eliminate those unsightly spots.
ASAP!!! Bug residue and bird droppings contain acid that will eat into your vehicles finish if not removed in a timely fashion.
Regular application of our sealant creates a polymer barrier that helps protect clearcoated surfaces from UV rays and airborne contaminants, as well as acids from leaf stains, tree sap, bug spatter and bird droppings …all of which can eat through the clearcoat and cause permanent damage. Our sealant is designed to provide a protective polymer barrier for up to 30 days from date of application. So make it part of your “routine maintenance” by including it with your car wash regularly by picking our Silver or Gold Wash.
The terms wax and polish are used interchangeably today. Most waxes and polishes contain some mild cleaning agents (safe for clear coat finishes), which remove old wax, minor scratches and everyday oxidation. However, if your vehicle requires stronger cleaner, we recommend using a polishing compound (contains stronger cleaning agents) prior to waxing. As always recommended, test a small inconspicuous area and always follow instructions.
If you wash your vehicle every week, a wax should be applied at least three times a year to protect the paint coat. Waxing every 90-day is sufficient for vehicles exposed to the highest level of environmental elements (like UV Rays and acid rain).
Mineral deposits cause most common water spots. Vinegar and water does a great job at neutralizing these marks. We also recommend the use of the Clay Bar for a safe and thorough method in removing water spots. It is also very important to wash off water spots as soon as possible. If the vehicle is left in the sun for prolonged periods of time (4 days or more), there is a good chance that the water spots will actually etch into the clear coat. This makes it very difficult, sometimes impossible, to remove the water spots if they have been on the paint for long periods of time.
Our wash tunnel will unlikely remove road tar or tree pitch. There are special products sold specifically for that purpose (visit our on-site vending area.) Refer to your owner’s manual for the manufacturer’s specifications. Whenever possible, try to remove the stain while it is still sticky. NEVER use abrasive cleaners or pads to remove stains from your vehicle’s finish. Make sure to clean the area thoroughly after treatment. Consider protecting the area with a paste wax after cleaning.
Unfortunately, we can’t be responsible for aftermarket accessories. Most customers who have bug shields wash their vehicles with no incident. However, problems can arise if the shield has already been damaged by rock chips, or by stress cracks around the installation screws (which can be hard to detect), or if it is made from low-grade plastic. If you need a new bug shield, we recommend products made of Lexan, such as Lund® or Deflecta-Shield®, which are virtually indestructible.
Our equipment will not harm trailer hitchs; however, to allow our “wraps” to give you the best quality wash possible for the rear of your vehicle, we recommend removing a hitch if possible. Also, hitch receptacle plug inserts should be removed prior to washing as they may break or come loose in the wash process.
Any fixed factory antenna will not be harmed during the wash. Power antennas are hollow core and WILL break if left in the raised position, so please lower all power antennas. The Express Wash is not responsible for antennas that have not been lowered. Aftermarket products such as CB and cell phone antennas should be removed prior to washing.
When you return your Lease vehicle, it will be inspected for excess wear. Since excess wear could mean additional charges, you should know the difference between “normal” and “excess” wear. Be sure to show a car in good shape. Remember, that excessively dirty cars are not acceptable to the lease company and they expect them to be returned clean. If fact, we are told that when cars are returned dirty, it usually means that somebody is trying to hide something and they pay extra attention to them after they have had them cleaned at your expense!!! Come visit us and we’ll do our best to help you avoid any additional costs at the dealership.
